Volunteer Opportunity near Charlottesville – May 12

Hi again chestnut enthusiasts!

I’m looking for a few hands to help save a little demo orchard just south of Charlottesville Saturday, May 12th at 9:00 AM.

It’s a great little planting, but the grasses are hurting the seedlings and we need to install some tree tubes to protect against rabbits and voles. We’ll probably replace a few seedlings too. With a handful of volunteers and a couple hours of work we can turn this into an awesome demo planting.

Let me know if you think you can make it, I can send you directions. As usual, bring water, snacks and lunch, work gloves, etc. and please dress for the weather.
