The Asheville Museum of Science (AMOS) announces the fall line-up of the museum’s Science Pub series, a free monthly science event. Hosted at The Collider, the Fall 2017 line-up includes speakers from NCEI, The American Chestnut Foundation, UNC Asheville, and the Sustainable Appalachian Viticulture Institute.
On October 20 at 6:30pm, TACF’s Director of Science, Dr. Jared Westbrook will give a talk on “Saving the American Chestnut: Introducing Disease Resistance to One of America’s Most Beloved Trees.”
Science Pubs are one Friday a month and take place at The Collider in downtown Asheville, on the top floor of the Wells Fargo building at 1 Haywood Street. Lite bites are provided by Ingles Markets, and beverages are provided by Asheville Brewing Alliance. Doors open at 5:30pm and the program begins at 6:30pm.
