11th Annual West Virginia Chestnut Festival

The WV Chapter of TACF will be celebrating its 11th Annual Chestnut Festival on Sunday, October 7 on the scenic bend of the Cheat River in Rowlesburg. The festivities begin at 10:30AM with a full breakfast at the Szilagyi Center for Visual and Performing Arts. TACF’s President and CEO Lisa Thomson, and Mid-Atlantic Regional Science Coordinator Tom Saielli, will be at the breakfast to help kickoff the event. From noon until 5:00PM, visit the Rowlesburg Park and Welcome Center to try some roasted chestnuts, play games, browse chestnut arts and crafts, and purchase chestnut seedlings. A scientific program about the American chestnut tree will take place from 4:00-5:00PM and the Gala Banquet begins at 5:30PM.
