Montreat Native Plant Sale and Arbor Day Celebration

TACF is a sponsor of this event that will take place on Saturday, April 28 at Moore Center Park in Montreat, NC (near Asheville) from 9:00AM-2:00PM. Carolinas Chapter President, Doug Gillis will give a presentation about TACF’s mission to return the iconic American chestnut tree to its native range. Restoring the tree involves a long journey, the most complex rescue effort of any plant species ever undertaken. Doug will explain TACF’s Strategic Plan for 2017-2027 which focuses on four areas: Science and Technology, Restoration, Promotion and Outreach, and Organizational Advancement. He’ll also explain how the actions to implement the strategies involve the Carolinas, presenting opportunities for people to get involved in the restoration effort. Learn more about the event here.
