About the Summit
The restoration of the American chestnut is a project that will require the cooperation of state and federal agencies, private organizations, industry and individuals. The 2012 American Chestnut Summit will bring together scientists, private landowners, conservationists, outdoor enthusiasts and industry professionals to share the current state of knowledge of the American chestnut and inspire reintroduction of this species to eastern forests. The Summit will provide a unique opportunity to enhance awareness of the importance of American chestnut restoration, explore partnerships, exchange information and discuss this exciting project with a wide audience. Continuing Forestry Education Credits Available

Society of American Foresters (SAF) is offering Continuing Forestry Education credit for attending the 2012 American Chestnut Summit. Credits are as follows:

Saturday, October 20

Sunday, October 21

  • Critical Needs Workshop – 3.5 hours Cat. 2
  • Practical Skills Workshops – 2.5 hours Cat. 1-CF, 1.0 hour Cat. 2
